SelfCollect is an STD testing service you collect in the privacy and comfort of your home. Our goal is to enable you to take control of your intimate health.
It can be completely confidential if you choose. The minimum information required is a birth date, shipping address and payment information, which still maintains your anonymity. You will not need to provide your name, billing address or contact information unless you decide to create an account.
SelfCollect has also taken every precaution to protect your data following strict HIPAA regulations, and state and federal privacy laws, which prevent your test results from being released without your permission. Our industry software is secure and safe.
Sexually active individuals are at risk for acquiring all STDs. Some are symptomatic and others have no symptoms. SelfCollect has compiled the most current information on the most common STDs that is available for you to review in the Resources section.
Please note, if you are still uncertain about what tests to order, we have several panels available to order that include multiple tests.
This is really dependent on an individual’s sexual practices and symptoms. New sexual partners or symptoms suggest much more frequent testing.
Please note, HPV is the most common STD that is easily transmitted and bears no symptoms. Therefore, frequent testing is always suggested.
For your privacy and security, we do not accept health insurance. Health insurance companies would be aware of every test that you may order, interfering with your private, intimate health. We feel it’s important that you have complete confidentially when screening for STDs. As a result of not billing medical insurance, SelfCollect is able to make the testing very affordable.
SelfCollect has taken every precaution to protect your data following strict HIPAA regulations and through the use of secure, industry-safe software. Your information will never be shared with outside sources.
We accept most major credit and debit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB and Discover cards, as well as SelfCollect gift cards.
Visit our Ambassador section and provide the information as prompted. An email will be sent shortly after verifying your registration and information on initial training. A social security number or work permit number and 1099 form will be required, as well.
Having an account enables you to order more easily and reference past test results.
The cancellation policy is as follows:
- A 100% refund if cancellation is made PRIOR to the order being shipped.
- Due to the cost of materials, a 50% refund will be issued if order is canceled AFTER it has been shipped.
- There are no refunds on gift cards or after testing on the order has taken place.
- The loss of a package or a package that was not delivered is NOT grounds for cancellation. Rather, SelfCollect will offer a one-time replacement order to be mailed out again.
Due to HIPAA privacy laws, you can only order a test collection kit for your self. However, you can easily send someone an electronic gift card to help cover the costs of any of their tests.
Turn-around times will vary. From the time the laboratory receives a sample, we strive to have testing completed within 3-5 business days with the exception of HPV testing; this test can take up to 2 weeks to complete. Also, at times, a specimen may need to be reprocessed. This will add a few days to the turn-around time. As a reminder, you will receive a notification once results are complete.
The only person who will have access to your test results is you, unless you share your PIN, order number and/or personal login information.
Your results will be available by visiting the "See Your Results" page. Simply log-in with your PIN or username and your order number.
During the checkout process, you can choose to be notified that your results are ready via email or text.
Please review the recommendations that accompany your test results page. Additional information and recommendations can be found in the Resources section.
If you create an account, your test results will be available indefinitely. If you do not create an account and remain anonymous, your test results will only be available for 6 months once posted.

No.
SelfCollect will not appear on your statement. But rather the generic, alias name of “Knowledge House” for your protection and confidentiality.
It is the policy of SelfCollect.com, that no refunds are available for an "Indeterminate" test result. However, we will automatically ship out one new kit to repeat the collection process via USPS First Class Mail at no additional charge. You will be retested only for the diseases that showed indeterminate results.
The new kit will have a new order number associated with it, but still will be associated with your account if you have one, or your birthday and PIN combination if you are an anonymous user. You will be notified of any updated results in the same way you elected with your initial order.
SelfCollect only provides one free additional kit per order for retesting. If you again receive indeterminate results from the second collection, and symptoms are still present or you believe you may still have an infection, you should consider purchasing a new kit.
We can ship to an international APO/AE address, however, a tariff is required. SelfCollect will provide the required documentation for both the package arriving to you and the package you will send back. Although we do not foresee this being an issue, customs can intercept packages at their discretion which could delay or prohibit the package from being delivered. Standard shipping is still provided at no charge.
